The Hypercube Project - Creating a clean, contemporary navigation interface.
Client: Snepo-Research Lab
Brief: The objectives to work with Snepo to explore opportunities with 3-dimensonal navigation specific to museums. In this case the Powerhouse museum
My Approach: I focused on UX research methodologies and tools my aim was to understand how users navigate through a museum. It was an eyeopening experience as to how a museum works and stores information.
My Role: I was responsible for conducting user research, creating user journey maps, sketching user flows and story boards . The result was a possible interactive prototype built in Invision that allowed us to demonstrate key features .

The Project
To understand what the potential users and stakeholders want and analyse the available space in the Powerhouse Museum to implement the possible solution.
Conducting surveys that was sent out to potential users via social media and email, gave us an insight on what they expect and would like to see in a museum space.
Using online competitive analysis and market research we sought to learn more about existing apps. Research from site visits and conducting user interviews we narrowed down the solutions on providing better user experience.
Analysis
Contextual Inquiry, Competitive Analysis, Site Visits
As our project was largely contextual, we researched at products, software and applications that was similar in concept and could be available on the market for us to see.We considered the pro and cons of the applications and incorporated it in our solutions.
Story Boards and Personas
With a limited timeframe, sketching allowed us to iterate quickly and collaborate with users and our stakeholders on the design. We needed to work out flows and interactions, layout, and in particular how the user experience would differ for different scenarios
Recommendations + Next Steps + Prototype
Our Recommendations included, Creating a multi- platform app, Create social platform for parents and local community to enable easy communication and Further research on user behavioural patterns with touch screen and 3-D navigational systems.
After various stages of usability testing, the result was a finalised set of sketches for Snepo. The Hypercube project is being discussed, awaiting for approval later this year.
